A rural finca for holiday rent in Santa Gertrudis, in the municipality of Santa Eulària des Riu, a 200 year old Ibizan farmhouse carefully modernised and set in gardens with a large swimming pool. Can Emily stands halfway between the villages of Santa Gertrudis and Santa Eulalia, around 10 minutes from each, so the quiet of the Ibizan countryside sits alongside the life of two of the busiest centres on the island. Its central position also makes it easy to reach some of the loveliest beaches in Ibiza. The renovation has produced a house of contemporary domestic comfort that keeps its period farmhouse character intact, and the condition throughout is excellent.
Inside the house
Polished tiled floors, genuine timber beams and slatted wooden ceilings give the interiors a warm, rustic feel. The open plan living area brings together a cosy sitting room, a formal dining room and an elegant, well equipped kitchen, with interiors designed to the highest standard so that traditional charm sits comfortably alongside modern conveniences. The house offers 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, every room en suite. The two master suites open onto their own terrace areas with bathtubs and rain showers, the guest double opens directly onto the yoga area and the Bali cabin, and the fourth is a comfortable double.
Gardens and surroundings
The generous, beautifully planted gardens make a secluded country escape: a large pool framed by lush tropical planting, sun loungers, a free standing hammock and a striking Balinese chill out pavilion. Outdoor dining, a barbecue, sofas, a swing bench, the yoga area and a smaller sun drenched terrace complete the outdoor space. Rich green country views on every side reinforce the sense of retreat, with the lively village of Santa Gertrudis and the coastal town of Santa Eulalia a few minutes away by car. The house is let for holiday stays under its touristic licence, fully furnished and equipped, and the energy certificate is in progress.
