A retreat by the sea
Can Xarraca is a spectacular retreat for rent close to the village of Portinatx, in the municipality of Sant Joan de Labritja, with stunning sea views, lush private gardens and direct access to the beach. The property gathers 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms into two separate living areas divided by a covered patio. The more recently built part was designed by the well known Blakstad practice and opens with the main living room, with high beamed ceilings, a fireplace and comfortable sofas. French doors give onto the sea view terrace on one side and onto the Moroccan patio garden on the other, planted with formal hedges and herbs. Double doors at the far end of the living room lead to a central hall, the kitchen and the bedrooms.
Two houses, one finca
The master suite occupies the first floor, with a four poster bed and a large private terrace with a fountain and views of the sea and the coastal cliffs, while the ground floor holds two further double bedrooms that share a bathroom and open their French doors onto another terrace. The second house is a century old finca with beautiful sabina wood ceilings and many original features preserved: on the ground floor a double bedroom with en suite bathroom, a second double bedroom, a second kitchen and a small sitting room with a fireplace, and upstairs a double room with a private terrace facing the sea. There is a dining room next to the kitchen, although in the warmer months meals are usually taken outside on the terrace beside the Moroccan garden, and several other terraces are placed around the house and gardens. Beside the main house a large lawn is dominated by two enormous palm trees and by the 10 metre pool, at whose far end waits a large chill out area with plenty of comfortable cushions and a canvas parasol. The house has air conditioning and central heating for the colder months, along with wireless internet, satellite television and a high specification music system.
Cala Xuclar and Cala Xarraca
Access to the property from the coast road is through a remote controlled gate, and the grounds run all the way down to the shore. It is around 800 metres on foot to the pebble beach of Cala Xuclar and 1 km to the sandy beach of Cala Xarraca. The private parking area has space for several vehicles. The house is suitable for weddings and events, for which an event fee applies, and it is offered as a seasonal holiday rental, furnished and equipped, under a touristic rental licence. The energy certificate is in progress.
