Large antique wooden doors, polished concrete floors that bounce the light, simple materials and reclaimed wood give the house a warm domestic texture that carries into the bedrooms and their calm, earthy colours. The plan is fluid and built for indoor-outdoor living, so a guest can step away from the entertaining spaces and retreat to a private room; the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms with additional storage and high-end toiletries, and each opens directly to the garden with elevated, far-reaching views over the tree canopy and out to sea. The swimming pool is flanked by hardwood decks and well-kept lawn, in tones of ochre, brown and green.
Woodland and town
The surroundings are woodland and open country, the plot sloping and planted with trees, which is why the house manages to be both close to things and sheltered from them. Ibiza town is a five minute drive away, so a retreat this quiet still keeps the restaurants and the port within easy reach.
