Cala Nova sits just north of Es Canar on the east coast and offers one of the calmer stretches of sand in the area. The bay is wide enough that it rarely feels crowded even in the height of summer. A row of low key beach bars sits behind the sand offering simple food and drinks without any of the loud beach club atmosphere found elsewhere on the island. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available for anyone who prefers not to bring their own. The water stays shallow for a good distance out which makes it a reliable choice for families and less confident swimmers. A rocky headland at the northern end offers decent snorkelling for anyone keen to explore further. Cala Nova works well as a base for a full day at the beach rather than a quick stop given the range of facilities close by.
