Cueva de las Medusas
Sant Vicent · North Ibiza

Place overview
Cueva de las Medusas is a hiking route from Sant Vicent that leads down through pine forest to a sea cave known locally for the jellyfish that sometimes drift into its calm water. The trail is well marked and popular with residents who know the north coast well. The walk down passes through dense pine forest before the path opens up toward the coast and the final stretch to the cave itself. Despite the name jellyfish sightings are occasional rather than constant and swimmers should simply check the water before getting in. This is a route built for hikers rather than beachgoers since there is no easy access by car and the final section is steep enough to need proper shoes. Comfortable footwear and a reasonable level of fitness make the walk far more enjoyable. Morning is generally the best time to attempt it before the heat builds and before the trail gets busy with other walkers heading down to the same cave.
