SUBFARI is a diving school based in Portinatx at the very top of Ibiza. It was started by instructors who grew up swimming this coastline long before it became a diving destination and they still lead every trip themselves. The school works the rocky coves and small caves around Portinatx and nearby Cala Xarraca where the water often stays clear enough to see twenty metres down in summer. Courses run from a first discovery dive for complete beginners through to full certification and every group stays small. Full equipment is included in every booking so visitors only need a swimsuit and a towel. Trips run most mornings between April and October and afternoons are added once the season is in full swing. Anyone considering a home in the north of the island is worth telling about SUBFARI early. Owners who settle nearby tend to end up diving far more often than they planned once they realise how close the water actually is.
